Customily alternatives: it depends what you ship

The short answer

Custivo is the answer when the product has a shape: the customer rotates it, places it in their room through AR or wears it, and the personalisation is part of a 3D product rather than artwork on a flat surface. Customily is a print-on-demand personalizer and one of the best-reviewed apps on the shelf — it reaches more fulfilment networks than we do, and its artwork tools and print-method depth go further than anything here. For a business built on decorated blanks — mugs, shirts, ornaments, engraved gifts — that depth is the reason to prefer them.

What each one actually does

A flat plan plus a fee per item

Customily charges one monthly plan and then a fee on each order item, which is a different shape from a percentage: barely noticeable on a high-value order, significant on a cheap one at volume. Ours is flat with nothing per order.

Where Custivo is the better answer

The product exists in three dimensions

Custivo puts a real model on the page — rotatable, placeable in the room through AR, with try-on where it is worn. Customily's listing describes live preview on artwork, not a model the customer can turn around.

Nothing per order

A per-item fee is invisible on a high-value order and painful on a cheap one at volume, which is exactly the shape of a personalised-gift business. We charge nothing per order on any plan.

Beyond Shopify

Custivo has its own apps for ikas, Wix and Salla as well as Shopify, and runs on any other storefront through a script tag. A subscription covers one store, on whichever of those it sits.

Where Customily is the better answer

More printers on the other end

Customily pushes production files to Printify, Printful, Gelato and the rest, in the formats each printer needs. Custivo reaches two of those, Printful and Printify, and only from Shopify orders. If your printer is Gelato, or you run several and want one app talking to all of them, that gap is the comparison.

The personalisation toolkit is deeper

Maps, calendars, AI effects, background removal, clipart libraries, one-click Canva import — the tools a gift store actually reaches for daily. Ours are aimed at product options, not artwork.

Built by people who understand print

Print area control, bleed, multi-format export: the unglamorous parts that decide whether an order arrives correct. That knowledge is in their product and not in ours.

So which one

Both lists are honest, and the second one is not a formality. If what your store needs is on it, weigh that properly — finding out here costs you an afternoon, and finding out after a month of trying costs you the month.

Choose Custivo if

Your product has geometry a customer would want to inspect before buying.

You want AR or camera try-on alongside personalisation.

Your order volume is high enough that a per-item fee has become a real line in the accounts.

Customily may be the better fit if

You print, engrave, embroider or sublimate, and the file has to arrive in the format that method needs.

Your personalisation is artwork — names, photos, maps, dates — on a blank.

You print through Gelato, or through several partners at once, and want one app feeding all of them.

Switching from Customily

The direction decides it. Where the personalisation sits on a product with a shape, your artwork templates do not transfer and your 3D models, if you have them, import untouched. Where the product is printed, the move costs more than it returns. The realistic path either way is to rebuild one product here during the trial and compare it against the same product in Customily on a phone.

Your glTF and GLB models import as they are — the modelling work is not repeated.

Custivo has its own apps for Shopify, ikas, Wix and Salla, and runs anywhere else through a script tag — your store keeps the platform it is on.

The trial is long enough to rebuild one product and compare the two side by side before you cancel anything.
